About Us
Our vision is Somalia where everyone has access to basic needs and lives in peace and prosperity.
LLG is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that responds to humanitarian emergencies with lifesaving support mechanisms in partnership with national and international stakeholders, promotes peace, advocates against all types of violence, and initiates long-term and short-term development projects.
On the 20th of October 2005, LLG Aid was founded by a group of Somali elites from the Gedo region, in the districts of Belet Hawa and Elwak, in response to the humanitarian crisis that claimed many lives and properties. LLG has its head office in the Gedo region but also has operations and logistics offices in Mandera and correspondence and liaison offices in Nairobi. Additionally, we have representatives and fundraising offices in Australia, the United States, Canada, and Europe.
During its lifetime, the organization implemented community-based programs and provided training and consultations in partnership with communities and organizations with a shared vision and goals in providing humanitarian assistance to war-torn Somalia.
To promote the health and livelihoods of the people, LLG Aid board members and staff utilize a community-based approach, consulting the community in prioritizing their needs. To achieve its objectives, the Organization intends to coordinate with international non-governmental organizations, LNGOS, community-based organizations, Diaspora organizations, individuals, and local institutions.
By providing consistent training programs, the organization has long-term objectives of building people’s capacity and preparedness to withstand crises and disasters caused by nature or man’s evil deeds. Our programs have expanded to South Somalia from the Gedo region. We plan to expand the program to the entire Somalia region subject to resource availability and expansion capacity.
In addition to conducting investigations and monitoring human rights abuses, the organization conducts research and documents cases of violence against humanity and gender equality. As a result, the organization reports cases of concern to the relevant institutions and organizations for resolution.
