Projects

Resilience Project

LLG was created to provide emergency aid to the people in the Gedo region and help them tide through the humanitarian crisis they had been suffering from for years. And, even today, our resilience programs are at the heart of everything we do. Our focus is on providing emergency assistance to people, supporting communities to overcome the crisis, and building strong, resilient communities that can withstand any natural or man-made disaster. We have implemented a wide variety of training programs and real, impactful activities to help us achieve our goal of creating resilient communities in the Gedo region.

Food Security Project

Food security is a major concern for people across the globe and especially in Somalia. Somalia has an estimated 4.1 million people who lack food security and are in urgent need of food assistance. Providing food security to people can have a profound impact on entire communities, as we believe at LLG.

We ensure food security, implement livelihood programs, improve local agricultural practices, create local markets, and support small local initiatives to reach out to the people in the Gedo region.

WASH Project

WASH (short for Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) is one of LLG’s most significant projects. Our WASH programs are designed to promote sanitation, provide access to clean drinking water, and improve community hygiene. We created a real, positive impact in the Gedo region by helping people gain access to clean water.

There has been a remarkable change in the sanitation and hygiene levels of communities in the region.

Health and Nutrition Projects

Our health and nutrition projects aim to tackle the lack of access to clean, nutritious food, which is still a reality for a majority of the Somali population. Millions of children are malnourished, and thousands die each year due to a lack of food and water. We provide nutritious food to people and prevent and treat acute malnutrition while gathering vital data on the condition.
